Warhammer 10th Edition

Games Workshop has recently announced the launch of the new Warhammer 40,000 10th edition starter set, named 'Leviathan'. This box is jam-packed with 72 fresh and exciting Space Marine and Tyranid models and will be the perfect way for fans to dive into the latest edition of the sci-fi wargame.

The Leviathan box set will be a limited run, containing a 392-page hardback rulebook, a deck of 66 mission cards, and a total of 72 miniatures - 25 Space Marines and 47 Tyranids.

Although the new edition's full rules and army lists for all factions will be available on the launch date, this box set is still worth getting as it contains an exclusive Leviathan narrative campaign and additional background information, which will not be found elsewhere.

The release date of the Warhammer 40k 10th edition Leviathan starter set has not been officially announced, but we do know that it will be available in June 2023. According to Warhammer Community's Eddie Eccles, Leviathan's cost will be somewhere between that of the Horus Heresy box set and the last Warhammer 40,000 launch box we think this will be more like £150 a box.

While the Leviathan box set will be limited, Games Workshop has ensured that it has produced plenty of copies, and the components will be available separately soon after the release date. It will not be made to order, so make sure to grab it while you can.

So lets have a look what is in the box.

To emerge victorious in battle against even the most abhorrent of adversaries, comprehending their nature is imperative. Equipped with formidable Gravis armor, the Apothecary Biologis possesses the ability to withstand overwhelming enemy attacks and use his vivispectrum to extract enemy biomatter for analysis. By harnessing the power of his foes' biology, he can turn it against them and secure a strategic advantage on the battlefield.

Lieutenant in Phobos Armour

Clad in Phobos armor and armed with a combi-weapon and two combat blades, this Lieutenant is skilled in infiltration tactics. By moving ahead of the main Space Marine force, he can cause confusion and chaos among his foes, throwing their battle lines into disarray and gaining a tactical edge for his allies.

The Terminators are the epitome of the elite Space Marine veterans, adorned in massive armor and armed with powerful weaponry such as power fists, storm bolters, and devastating assault cannons. Using a teleport homer, they can be instantly deployed into the heart of the battle, where their brute force and might can crush any opposition that dares to stand against them. Few adversaries in the galaxy can withstand the ferocious onslaught of these formidable warriors.

In situations where you confront countless waves of alien hordes, the Infernus Squad serves as an ideal weapon of choice. These skilled warriors are equipped with Pyreblasters that unleash torrents of scorching flame, purging their adversaries with an infernal fury that leaves nothing but ash in their wake.

This fearsome Dreadnought can effortlessly take down heavily armored enemies, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.

Tyranids

Winged Tyranid Prime

The Winged Tyranid Prime is a grotesque alpha predator that seamlessly combines its brute strength with unparalleled agility. It hovers above the battlefield, scouring for potential targets to mercilessly descend upon and shred apart with its razor-sharp talons.

Neurotyrant

The Tyranid hive fleets are often preceded by an ominous presence called the Shadow in the Warp, a psychic phenomenon that disrupts and blocks warp-based communication. During their invasions, the Neurotyrant serves as a central node for this eerie power, melting the minds of its unfortunate victims and skillfully coordinating hordes of Tyranids towards triumph.

Screamer-Killer

The Carnifexes, living bulldozers with varied forms, have a notorious variation that reigns supreme in size and infamy - the Screamer-Killer. This adaptation is dubbed after the ominous scream that echoes as it unleashes its bio-plasma blasts, making them an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.

Neurogaunts

Neurogaunts are a distinct form of gaunts that rely on a symbiotic bond with the neurocytes attached to their backs. Their main objective is to safeguard the influential synapse creatures that direct the Tyranid assault, and they are willing to selflessly lay down their lives to achieve this goal.

Barbgaunts
